How it works

How does TopicWeaver keep researching a topic for you?

TopicWeaver turns a one-time search into a standing research task. You describe a topic once; it returns to that topic every day, finds new relevant resources, and organises them in a dashboard you can come back to.

1. Add a topic with a clear description

Choose ‘Add a topic’, give it a recognisable name and describe what you want to follow. Select Work or Personal. The name helps you scan your dashboard; the description gives research its scope. Include the subject, the angle you care about and any useful region or audience. Adding a topic within plan limits is free, including its first research.

  • Illustrative name: ‘EU AI rules for healthcare’.
  • Illustrative description: ‘Follow implementation guidance for EU healthcare providers using AI, focusing on obligations and timelines rather than general AI product announcements.’
  • These examples are suggestions for wording, not actual customer topics or results.
  • Free includes 5 personal + 5 work topics and up to 6 visible resources per topic.

2. Wait for the first research to finish

The add-topic panel shows estimated stages while the real request is running. TopicWeaver plans searches, retrieves candidates from a search service, checks links and uses AI to assess relevance. Keep the panel open until it reports the outcome. A run can take a while and can return zero resources; neither an empty result set nor a failed search should be mistaken for proof that no information exists.

3. Read resources in your topic dashboard

Open the topic to see resource tiles with a title, visual, short description and source link, newest discoveries first. ‘Found’ records when TopicWeaver discovered a resource. ‘Published’, if available, records the source's publication date. An older page found today can appear above a recently published page found yesterday. Use both dates and the original page to decide what is genuinely new.

4. Let daily research continue

For active accounts, TopicWeaver returns to your topics automatically about once a day. Daily research is free, even with no Credits left. It is scheduled research rather than real-time monitoring, and it does not guarantee every development will be found. If your account has not been active for more than 30 days, research pauses to avoid work you are not using and resumes when you return to the app.

5. Set your email digest preference

In Settings, choose Email digest: Daily, Weekly or Off. Daily is the default; Weekly groups the week's new findings, with delivery scheduled on Mondays. Digests group topics with new resources, and no digest is sent when there is nothing new to include. Email is not an instant alert for each search. A manual refresh displays results in the app and does not send an immediate email. You can also unsubscribe from a digest and re-enable it in Settings.

6. Check sources and tidy up

Open the original publisher's page before relying on a claim. Link checks assess whether a resource is usable, not whether it is accurate, complete or appropriate for your decision. You can use ‘Verify links’ to re-check saved links, remove unwanted resources, move a topic between Work and Personal within plan limits, or delete a topic and its saved history. These controls use no Credits.

Can I refresh a topic on demand?

Yes. A manual refresh runs additional research between daily runs and costs 1 Credit. Free accounts start with 5 introductory Credits, enough for 5 manual refreshes; these are not a monthly grant. Failed charged research is refunded. At zero Credits, daily research and topic creation within plan limits still work. Pro is not yet purchasable; see Pricing for the planned price and waitlist.

What should I do if a result seems wrong?

Treat titles and short descriptions as a guide to reading, not a verified answer. Check the source's evidence and dates, compare important claims with a primary source and remove irrelevant resources. Research can miss pages or judge relevance imperfectly. For urgent, medical, legal or financial decisions, use appropriate direct sources and professional advice rather than relying on a topic dashboard alone.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to keep searching after adding a topic?

No. Once a topic is added, TopicWeaver researches it automatically about once a day. You only come back to read what is new.

Does the daily research cost Credits?

No. Automatic daily research is free on every plan — it's the core of TopicWeaver. Credits are only used for on-demand refreshes (1 Credit each), and the Free plan includes 5.

What happens to links that stop working?

TopicWeaver checks links before adding them and you can re-verify a topic's links at any time; dead links are removed.
